SANDPOINT — Are you interested in learning more about the East Bonner County Library District’s proposed expansion?

Come to the Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce general membership Thursday lunch meeting where East Bonner County Library District’s marketing and community development contact Marcy Timblin will be speaking about the project.

The luncheon will be held from noon-1 p.m., with registration starting at 11:45 a.m. at the Community Room of the Columbia Bank Building, 414 Church St.

Timblin will be speaking about the upcoming Sandpoint branch remodel and expansion project, which library officials say will address the immediate and future needs of the community. Timbliln said the transformation will provide adequate space for early and lifelong literacy programs, the books and other materials the Sandpoint area needs most, skills development opportunities for people of all ages and appropriate spaces for the activities that are important to our community.

The East Bonner County Library Board of Trustees decided to take a unique approach instead of floating a bond and increasing the tax burden on local citizens, so the expansion is voluntarily being funded by the community.

Timblin manages public relations, marketing and community development for the library district and is responsible for leading all of the library district’s marketing, external communications and fundraising strategy and execution.

The cost is $15 for chamber members, $20 for non-chamber members and includes lunch catered by Tango Café. Please register online at www.sandpointchamber.com or call 208-263-2161 to reserve a space.
