Kenneth Freeman Clyde, 92, passed away peacefully at home with his family present on Friday, April 7, 2017, in Sandpoint, Idaho.

Kenneth was born on Oct. 29, 1924, in Page, Neb., to Rhea and W. Elton Clyde. His family moved to Sandpoint in 1948.

He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Upon his return to Sandpoint, he joined the family dairy farm and, in 1957, married Alice Klempel. They raised their two children on the farm in the Selle Valley.

When Kenneth and Alice retired, they spent time traveling and visiting relatives.

When at home, Ken enjoyed working in the garden, fishing, reading, playing and listening to music. He was often found singing a tune and always welcomed visitors with a smile and a meal.

Ken-neth was a man of faith, he walked through life with kindness toward others, acceptance, grace and dignity. We are all grateful for all of the people who were there for him in his times of need.

He is survived by his children, Arlene (Ted) Cook of Sandpoint, and Keith Clyde (Monique Miller) of Sandpoint; many grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary Espinoza and Ruth Ann Clyde.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Alice in 2010, and brothers Alvin and Russel Clyde.
