Music, magic and fun help brighten dreary spring
SANDPOINT – Sure, it has been oppressively, interminably, undeniably bleak in the weather department, but for all things entertainment-oriented, we are in full bloom! Don’t miss tonight’s film and producer discussion at the Panida. Also tonight, a cool benefit with live music at MickDuff’s Beer Hall.
Friday features a traditional Basque dinner in Hope and Saturday is chock full of concerts, including Bridges Home at Pend d’Oreille Winery, Neighbor John at DiLuna’s and Carl Rey and the Blues Gators up at the Pearl in Bonners Ferry. If you feel like traveling, there’s a stellar play at NIC at the ‘Get Lit!’ Festival in Spokane this weekend.

‘The Shack’

‘The Shack’ producer, Brad Cummings will be at the Panida for the Thursday showing of the film. Brad is one of the co-authors/collaborators of The Shack. This special visit is sponsored by Kochava and is for one night only. The film also will show on April 22, and 23rd at the Panida main theater.

Team Autism 24/7 presents ‘Life: Animated’

A coming of age story about a boy and his family who overcame great challenges by turning Disney animated movies into a language to express love, loss, kinship and brotherhood.

The ‘Get Lit!’ Festival is an annual celebration of reading, writing, and storytelling brought to you by Eastern Washington University, and many generous community sponsors. Bridges Home

A trio of lead vocalists and multi-instrumentalists, performing transformed Americana, Celtic, Roots and originals. Bridges Home lays shimmering harmonies over a changing line up of instruments and a unique take on three-part foot percussion. Instruments include guitar, tenor ukulele, clawhammer banjo, accordion, octave mandolin, cigar box guitar, bass, Irish whistles, bodhran, stompbox and washboard.

Social Dance

Come celebrate the fun tradition of social dancing in Sandpoint. This fun event starts with a one-hour Rumba lesson taught by Glen and Patty from 7-8 pm, followed by general dancing, refreshments, door prizes, mixers, and a drawing for one month of free dance lessons. Singles, couples and all levels of dancers are welcome.
