Gilberte (Gil) M. Scribner, 102

Gilberte (Gil) M. Scribner, 102, passed away April 17, 2017, at Valley Vista Care Center in Sandpoint, Idaho. Gil was born Jan. 30, 1915, in Wainwright, Alberta, in Canada.

Her parents were Louis Francis Ramaecker and Virginie Vella. Gil came to the United States in 1951 to work as an X-ray technician. She married Sidney Scribner on June 3, 1957. They lived in Silverton, Idaho, and then moved to Sandpoint in 1964 where they lived until her death.

Gil was very active in St. Joseph Catholic Church. She taught catechism for many years and cared for the church linens.

She was also known for providing pies at the county fair.

Gil is survived by her husband, of 59 years, Sidney Scribner. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother and sister.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Coffelt Funeral Service. A vigil/rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, April 21, in St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Mass of Christian burial will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 22 in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Father Dennis C. Day will be officiating.
