Time and time again, we hear of the problems within the VA system, and the concerns on how to fix it in a timely manner. Simple solution — take away the “special” health and dental coverage members of Congress presently receive (which by the way should be the same plans as the rest of America has to live with), and present to the members of Congress the only health plan that would be available to them, the VA.

I truly believe our VA system and all its problems would be dealt with and corrected quickly. This would also include the “new” Non-VA Medical Care Program (commonly called, Choice Program) that, in many cases, is truly difficult to work with when each and every step of medical service must be pre-approved by the Choice Program (takes minimum of at least five days to whenever for Choice Program response for each request), even when each of the additional medical services are necessary to complete the veteran’s initially approved request.
