HAYDEN — Caroline Hawkins shot a 95, leading a trio of Bulldog girls under 100 on Monday at the Coeur d’Alene Invite at the Avondale Golf Course.

It was far and away the best performance of the season for the girls team, as Hannah Hurst shaved two strokes off her career-low with a 97, Nina McDonnell shot 98, and Cheyenne Nicholson cut a whopping 14 strokes off her career low with a 105.

The top four golfers score, and not surprisingly, the 395 team score was the best all season, and certainly the lowest in recent memory.

“I’m real impressed with the girls right now. They’re going gangbusters right now,” praised Bulldogs head coach Tom Tharp. “Every girls shot better than they have. The chipping was excellent, we just need some more work on putting.”

Damien Fitzpatrick led the boys team with a 90, and while nobody broke 90, nobody was over 100 either. The team was eight strokes higher than last week.

“It was just all-around trouble,” claimed Sharp of the boys team. “They just need to get back to playing one hole at a time, not let a bad hole get to them.”

Sandpoint hosts their home meet on Monday, at The Idaho Club, with a 9 a.m. start.

SANDPOINT GIRLS — Nina McDonnell 98, Caroline Hawkins 95, Hannah Hurst 97, Cheyenne Nicholson 105, Morgan Hogue 118.

SANDPOINT BOYS — Lake Wilks 92, Damien Fitzpatrick 90, Nick Crowley 94, Jacob Humrich 95, Joel Johnson 95, Caelan Darling 110.
