SANDPOINT — Laney Search and Khloe Kyllonen rolled in No. 1 girls doubles, and Patrick Rockwell and Jacob Jackson did the same in No. 1 boys doubles, as the teams notched 10-0 wins as the Bulldogs were leading the Trojans 6-2 when the rains came Tuesday during a tennis match at Travers Park.

Juan Dorado was leading 6-1, 5-2 when the rains canceled the action at No. 1 boys singles. Allura Livingston was leading 6-3, 1-0 when it began raining, and Jenny Slaveck didn’t drop a game in a straight set win at No. 3 girls singles.

“Allura’s court movement is always fantastic. Every day Jenny walks on the court, she gets better,” said Bulldogs head coach Kent Anderson, who was proud of his players’ performance in their home opener. “These guys just amaze me. When they get on the court under pressure, they consistently rise to the occasion. Their mental toughness is a tough trait to coach. It’s a special quality.”

Shane Curtis notched a solid 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 2 boys singles, using deep ground strokes to control the points from the baseline. Declan Plummer and Noah Hastings rallied for an 11-9 win in a 10 set match to round out the wins.

Alana Seifert lost a hard-fought 6-2, 7-6 (8-6) match at No. 2 girls singles, and sisters April and Amy Clark lost 10-6 at No. 2 girls singles.
