I noticed that a April 9 “blog” entry by a W. R. Hunter stated that he had “never seen more than a handful of people ever getting on or off Amtrak” He further asks, “What is the big deal?”

FYI: Amtrak statistics count 5,500 passengers used our depot in 2016, up from 5,000 in

2012.

For those of us who can’t drive distances, it’s the only way to get to and from this area. That’s a big deal and we’d hate to lose it.
