Five Sharks records fall at Inland Empire Long Course Championships

SANDPOINT — Several SWAC Sharks team records were broken last weekend as nine local youth swimmers trekked to Pendleton, Oregon to compete in the Inland Empire Long Course Championships.

Ryleigh Bamer posted a strong meet, finishing second in the 200 fly and third in the 200 free and 50 free. She broke the Sharks age group record in the 50 free. Older brother Garrett Bamer was the only other Shark to nab a top three finish, taking third in the 200 back and 8th in the 50 free, 100 free and 100 fly.

Hayden Norling finished fourth in the 1,500 meters and 9th in the 400, setting new Sharks records in the 1,500 and 200 free. Caleb Norling finished fourth in the 400 free, setting a new team record, also finishing 6th in the 100 free and 7th in the 100 back.

Aidan Nielsen finished fifth in the 100 fly, and also broke the Sharks 400 IM record to round out the boys in action.

Julia Cummings was 4th in the 50 free, Ava Deleeuw was 4th in the 200 IM and 200 free, Autumn Morgan was 6rh in the 100 breast and Kate Bokowy was 7th in the 50 free and 9th in the 100 fly and 100 free to round out the girls in action.

Several of the competitors will be suiting up for the Bulldog swim team this fall.
