Football, perhaps more than ever, is a game of throwing and catching, as these photos of Sandpoint players show. Fast break aerial offenses have taken the place of the old three-yards-and-a-cloud-of-dust mentality of the sport’s earlier origins. But a look at the record books of the NFL, Seattle Seahawks and Sandpoint Bulldogs receivers show a decidedly old-school flavor. Local Caleb Bowman holds two SHS season records with 1,220 yards receiving and 19 touchdowns in 1997, before heading off to play at Stanford.
