(Photo by MARY MALONE) Six City Beach lifeguards received lifesaving awards and a standing ovation from city staff, council members and the audience during Wednesday’s City Council meeting. The teens were honored for helping to save two lives this summer when, on separate occasions, one young man nearly drowned and another was seriously injured at the beach.
