I would like to extend our appreciation and gratitude to all the workers who performed the resurfacing and construction on Bottle Bay Road. The road crew was professional and safe, and the qualityof work is exceptional.

It should be noted that there are several areas along Bottle Bay Road where basic safety improvements would be welcomed. First, guardrails should be installed and/or repaired. In addition, speed signs and a yellow center line stripe should likewise be added. To support this request, a truck near mile marker 5800 on Bottle Bay Road rolled dow a 40-foot-plus embankment. This is not the first time for this type of accident and it could have been prevented if a guardrail was present.

Lastly, as a result of the improved road, drivers are exceeding the speed limit to a dangerous degree. I would encourage the Bonner County Sheriff’s Office to assign patrol cars until the excessive speeding is curtailed.
