Wampus Cat boys drop season opener to Royals

CLARK FORK — Garrett White had 35 points, 13 rebounds and five steals for the Royals in a 67-43 win over the Wampus Cats on Thursday night in nonleague boys basketball at Clark Fork High School.

Sophomore Kobe Banks scored 12 points to go with four assists and two steals, and Bryant Moore added seven points and five boards in defeat for the Wampus Cats (0-1), who led by two after one quarter before North Idaho Christian (2-0) turned the tide.

Wade Stevens added five points, five rebounds and a pair of steals, Cameron Garcia and Theo Icardo six points each, and Josh Constantin pulled down five rebounds, Denzel Kailang four and T.J. Henderson three for the Cats, who had trouble keeping the taller Royals off the boards.

Clark Fork hosts Mullan on Tuesday, at 7:30 p.m. following the girls game.
