Knights top Wampus Cats

PLUMMER — Tommia Pakootas scored 26 points on 8 of 10 from beyond the 3-point line, leading the Knights past the Wampus Cats 57-49 in a North Star League girls basketball game at Ron Miller Court Thursday night at Lakeside High School.

Brooke Stevens led the Wampus Cats (1-4, 0-1 NSL) with 19 points and eight rebounds, Tessa Sutton added seven points and nine boards, Kaylee Banks 10 points and Ellie Kiebert seven points, including a 3-pointer at the buzzer.

Clark Fork head coach Jordan Adams tipped her hat to the hot shooting Knights.

“They’re just a tough team. It’s always a good game playing them,” she said. “Hopefully we’ll get them next time. We have some defensive things to work on.”

Alyssa SiJohn had nine assists and Tara Allen 12 rebounds for Lakeside (6-2, 3-0 NSL), which is emerging as a team that might challenge Genesis Prep for the North Star League title. .
