Avista’s requested rate hikes include their request to sell and put U.S. Utilities in Canadian hands. As per Idaho Code 61-328 (b) ‘the cost and rates for supplying service will not be increased by reason of a sale.’

New “smart” meters continue to be rolled out. with reports of ill heath, as well as causing fires. Smart meters emit RF-EMR (Radio Frequency Electro-magnetic radiation,, which is rated by the World Health Organization as a Class 2B carcinogen.

Smart meters can detect and report utility use and can be considered a type of surveillance device. As per the U.S. Constitution, Amendment IV: “The right of people to be secure in their person, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated …”

As per Idaho Code 61-328 (a), the Idaho Public Utilities Commission shall not approve a transaction that is not consistent with the public interest.

With the smart grid in place, with meters a health risk as well as surveillance devices, with utilities that can be turned on or off remotely, Arista plans to sell to another country. This is obviously not consistent with public interest.
