Harold, who was known by all as Hal, was born on Feb. 6, 1949, to Dewey and Audrey Jennings in Myrtle Point, Ore. Hal was raised in Springfield Ore., Eugene Ore., as well as several other towns in Oregon and California. He graduated from Springfield High School in 1967. In February 1968, Hal joined the United States Army where he would serve for two years, one of which was in Korea in the 1st Battalion, 72nd Armor Division 8th Army.

After being honorably discharged from the Army, Hal moved to Sandpoint, Idaho, in 1970. Hal enjoyed leather crafting, and traveling to trade shows and barter fairs to sell his crafts. Hal worked as a taxi cab driver in the Sandpoint area for a number of years before starting a job at the Schweitzer Conoco where he would work for the next 15 years.

Hal had his first son, Tom Jennings in 1982 and his second son, Jared Jennings in 1984. Hal will be remembered as tall, handsome, soft spoken, stable and steady, gentle in nature and as such a pleasure to be around. Hal enjoyed gardening, shooting pool, listening to music, and watching professional sports. One of his great joys in life was restoring his red 1954 Chevy truck, that he passed down to his son Tom Jennings.

Harold is preceded in death by his parents and recently by his older brother, Jon Jennings. He is survived by his son, Tom Jennings of Ponderay; his son, Jared Jennings and daughter in-law Nicki Jennings of Belgrade, Mont.; his brother, Tom Jennings of Eugene; his sister, Sylvia Lee of Eugene; his sister, Jackie Jennings of Eugene; his brother, Rob Jennings of Sandpoint; and his half-brother, Shawn Jennings-Lacey of Independence, Ore.; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
