Robert Frank 'Bob' Cerny, 86

Robert Frank “Bob” Cerny, 86, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2017, in Sandpoint, Idaho.

A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at a later date.

Bob was born on Dec. 10, 1931, in Naper, Neb., to Edward and Martha Cerny. Bob joined the United States Navy Seabees.

He married Beverly Crowell on April 18, 1953 in Boston. Bob was stationed all over the United States and for three years in Germany.

After his retirement from the Navy, the family spent eight years in southern California. In 1980, Bob moved to Sagle, Idaho, and operated Bob’s Lawn and Garden Shop next to his home.

Bob enjoyed fishing and fixing things.

He is survived by his four children, Debi Gran-tham of Post Falls, Idaho, Barbara (Martin) Zim-merman of Sand-point, Donny (Jenny) Cerny of California, and Robin (Joe) Nelson of Sandpoint; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; adaughter-in-law Yunchang Cerny of Sandpoint; and caregiver and friend June Williamson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Beverly Cerny; sons Doug and Larry Cerny; and brother Alvin Cerny.
