CITY OF DOVER, IDAHO SUMMARY OF ORDINANCE # 154 Title 9, Chapter 1, Dover City Code BUILDING CODES AND REGULATIONS TITLE: An ordinance of the City of Dover, Idaho, a municipal corporation of the State of Idaho, amending Dover City Code, Title 9, Chapter 1, "Building Codes and Regulations," to: adopt the latest building codes authorized by the State of Idaho through its rulemaking authority; establish purpose and authority; update exemptions; specify permit terms, requirements, expiration dates, fees, and penalties; provide a savings clause, severability, and an effective date of January 1, 2018. SUMMARY: The City of Dover adopted Ordinance # 154 on December 14, 2017 to amend Dover City Code Title 9, Chapter 1, Building Codes and Regulations, to: adopt parts of the 2015 International Building Code; to adopt parts of the 2012 International Residential Code; to adopt parts of the 2015 International Energy Conservation Code; and to adopt the 2015 International fire code; to add an authority and purpose section; amend fence height exemption from 6 feet to 7 feet; provide a definition of agricultural buildings; specify landowner responsibilities for identifying property lines and complying with local codes and "one-call" notification system; set terms for occupancy; confirm requirements to obtain building permit; authorize stop work orders; confirm violations subject to investigative fees; confirm rights to enter property under permit; and set forth permit expiration terms. The ordinance is effective January 1, 2018, and upon publication of the ordinance summary in the official newspaper.
