Polly Irvin-Pizzi submitted this Best Shot of a recent guest to the familys home. What an unusual beauty to find in our yard, she wrote in an email submitting the photo. The Smithsonian magazine reports that scientists can track migratory dragonflies by attaching tiny transmitters to their wings using eyelash adhesive and Super Glue. At the end of its larval stage, apparently the fragile-looking wings dry and harden in a few hours or days. Nature never fails to amaze!
