Dabrowskis honored as top volunteers

| December 26, 2017 12:00 AM

Judy and Tom Dabrowski have been selected as the Greater Sandpoint’s Chamber of Commerce’s volunteers of the month for their commitment to volunteering in the community.

After graduating from Lake Forest College in Illinois with a degree in physics, Tom Dabrowski attended graduate school at the University of Idaho where he met his future wife Judy, who was also attending the university. The couple married in 1967 and have enjoyed the past 50 years together raising two sons, traveling around the world and finding adventures wherever they go.

Tom worked in the environmental services industry, becoming the president and chief executive officer of several corporations that did projects throughout the United States and abroad.

The Dabrowskis dedicated considerable time to their passion for outdoor adventure — they have climbed mountains and hiked in some of the most beautiful places in the world.

In 2001, Tom Dabrowski retired and they moved to Sagle and built a home. Judy and Tom Dabrowski joined the Sandpoint Lions Club and they have served as officers and active volunteers on Toys For Tots, the Independence Day celebration and many other Lions Club events.

Judy Dabrowski is currently president of the Sandpoint Lions and is very active in the Community Assistance League upscale resale store, Bizarre Bazaar, which has raised over a million dollars for local charities over the past 10 years. Tom Dabrowski serves as the president of the state-wide Idaho Trails Association, which helps maintain the state’s non-motorized hiking trails to help everyone enjoy the outstanding hiking in Idaho.
