Citizens and veterans of Bonner County:
My personal feeling on the renaming of the Long Bridge is to leave the name alone. At a recent veterans group meeting, we said we would like it to stay the “Long Bridge.” I spent 20 years in the Marine Corps; all over the U.S. and the Pacific. When I got to come home, the first thing that said I was home was the Long Bridge. There is no need to change the name to make some veteran feel good. Let him or her look at our national flag flying free on a flag pole and feel good that he/she kept it flying free.
I stated this at Sage Dixon’s town hall meeting in Ponderay and there were other veterans present who said what I said was about time. Also sent to Sen. Shawn Keough.
