Blanchard library hearing planned

| February 11, 2017 12:00 AM

SANDPOINT — The Bonner County Planning & Zoning Commission is taking up a conditional use permit modification for the West Bonner County Library District’s new library building in Blanchard.

A hearing on the permit request is set for 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 2. The hearing will be held in the Bonner County Administration Building at the corner of U.S. Highway 2 and Division Avenue.

The district is seeking the modification in order to place a new manufactured building on the site. The modular 42-foot by 62-foot building would replace a smaller building already on the property at 412 Railroad Ave.

The district’s permit application said the district has the opportunity to own a building that will cost taxpayers less than what they’re paying to lease the existing building. The parcel is 12,800 square feet and the district was issued the original conditional use permit in 2004.

A Bonner County Planning Department staff report will be available on the department’s website (www.bonnercounty.us) a week before the public hearing at P&Z.
