HARRISON FLATS — Strong games from Hunter Boudousquie and Kobe Banks were overshadowed by a slow start, as the Wampus Cats were unable to recover from a 25-9 opening quarter in a 66-57 loss to Kootenai on Friday night in North Star League boys hoops.

Triston Usdrowski scored 10 of his 22 points in the first quarter, and Dylan Wright scored 11 of his 21 in the opening quarter for the host Warriors (5-6, 3-4 NSL), who then held on for the win.

Boudousquie had 16 points, 10 rebounds and two blocked shots, and Banks 17 points, six rebounds and four assists for the Wampus Cats, who struggled to get stops.

“They went man on us and we were able to capitalize on picks and cutting and driving, and we had a lot of transition baskets,” Kootenai coach Mike Maitland said.
