I see the sky-is-falling, catastrophe-will-ensue, dogs-will-be-sleeping-with-cats campaign has started for the latest maintenance and operations levy. Why are you bothering? It’ll pass. The usual district employee voting block will see to that.
Even though non-retail/service jobs continue to flee the town/county, well we still have to tax ourselves out of house and home to support a district that doesn’t teach job skills, that continues to add new jobs such as counselors, over 100 for coaching positions, pay huge bonuses to the administration staff, (but not teachers as far as I know). More staff for a flat, even falling enrollment.
It doesn’t matter that my landlord hiked the rent 8 percent last month, just to keep it even with what everyone else is charging, and which will likely go up again next year when the taxes increase, yet again. But hey, it’s all for administration salaries … uh, kids, that is.
