Exhibit features top POAC teacher

Pend Oreille Arts Council will be celebrating their Teacher of the Year, Heather Guthrie, by exhibiting her new work titled Canyon Lands opening Friday, Feb. 24 with a reception from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the POAC Gallery, 302 N. First Avenue. Refreshments will be served.

In the Little Theater Gallery, adjacent to POAC Gallery, a water-themed exhibit will showcase the art of twelve local artists. This show, called Uncharted Water, will introduce two new POAC artists to the community.

Brian Sostrom is a painter who uses unique techniques and materials, like plexiglass, in his paintings which lend them a lot of depth and light. Christina takes stunning raw photos of the natural beauty in the area. The public is invited to stop by to meet all of the participating artists.

The exhibit will continue through March 24.
