Feb. 21, 1967 — CONTRACTORS ACT
The Idaho senate has repealed the controversial 1965 private contractor’s license act and killed a bill that would have amended it.
Sen. Merle Parsley told the News Bulletin the debate lasted more than two hours.

BREINICH NAMED ADMINISTRATOR
James E. Breinich, long-time member of the Bonner General Hospital board, has been named administrator to succeed Porter H. Zigler, who has accepted a position in Oregon.
Breinich served on the hospital board from the time it opened in 1947 until 1965. He helped guide the hospital through the first critical years and is thoroughly familiar with all of the institution’s problems.

APARTMENTS PLANNED
Schweitzer Land Company plans construction of four eight-unit apartment houses on Alpine Way a few hundred yards from Schweitzer Basin tows and lifts next summer.
Dr. Jack Fowler and architect Grant Groesbeck of the firm said they would be known as the Blue Beetle apartments and would be located on the hillside behind the Red Cricket condominium apartments.

Feb. 21, 1917 — NEW ARRIVALS
K.H. Sletager and family of Barlow, Oregon, arrived last week to make Sandpoint their home, having purchased the Woefel property at 909 Main. Mr. Sletager brought a carload of farm implements and household goods and plans to do some farming on his 160-acre ranch near Selle.

NEW LUTHERAN HOUSE OF WORSHIP
The Lutheran church building committee has decided to build a new church on the site of the present one, at the corner of 5th and Alder. It will be a wooden structure 32x60 ft. with furnace heat and full basement, a steeple and a bell. The cost will be in the neighborhood of $2000.

ARRIVES FROM WASHINGTON
Arthur Sires and family, who recently came here from Wapato, Wash., have rented the store room of the Superior street grocery, where Mr. Sires will build a quantity of beehives for use in the bee business. Mr. Sires, an experienced bee man, plans to start several apiaries around Sandpoint.

HERE AND AROUND ABOUT
Adam Fredericks, who drives for City Feed, has returned from visiting friends at Ritzville, Wash. All he says since then is, “No, I didn’t get married.”
Mrs. S.A. Brotherton returned Saturday from Spokane, where two weeks ago she underwent an operation for double goiter at Deaconess hospital.
