Ashley Lengyel, in the red coat, won Gold in both the 100 and 50 meter snowshoe races, part of a strong showing by the Sandpoint Monarch Special Olympics team at the Northern State Winter Special Olympics at Shoshone Park in Mullan recently. Natasha Freeberg earned Silver medals in both her 50 meter and 100 meter divisions of the snowshoe. Monarch Bradey Scrimsher won Gold in the 100 meters and Silver in the 50 meters of the cross country ski races, one of a handful of locals who fared well.
