It always pleases me that Lake Pend Oreille School District delivers a quality education to its students at a bargain price for taxpayers. For several years I served on the LPOSD School Board, seeing first-hand the consistent financial management and academic dedication that makes this possible.

Another focus of mine has been economic development — supporting and attracting employers who offer family wage jobs. Quality schools are essential. Employers want to live in an area that supports its schools and they need an educated workforce. There is no better investment than educating our future citizens.

The levy we vote on in March is a continuation of the operating levy in place for some time. The increase is small, and on the LPOSD website you can calculate what it means for you. Harder to calculate is the long-term loss of unsupported schools. Please join me in voting for our schools.
