Sandpoint Little League baseball and softball tryouts on Saturday

SANDPOINT — The first official event of the 2017 baseball season will take place on Saturday, Feb. 25 when Sandpoint Little League will hold baseball and softball registration and tryouts at Sandpoint High School.

Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the SHS commons, followed by tryouts, which are required for all players intending to participate in AAA, Majors and Juniors levels of both baseball and softball.

The Majors (10-11) and Juniors (13-14) tryouts for softball will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by the Juniors (13-14) baseball tryout from 1-2:30 p.m. and the AAA (8-11) and Majors (11-12) tryouts from 2:30-5 p.m.

Please have your player wear tennis shoes, bring their mitt and be prepared to have a good time. Tryouts are really just a skill assessment that helps the League to form balanced teams.

Registration is conducted 100 percent online this year. There will be computer stations set up on sight for people to use and volunteers to help you through the process. Even if you intend to make a payment in person, the process will be expedited if you create a user account and register your player in advance.
