Here in Sandpoint, we are blessed with many beautifut things. We enjoy sharing our lives with our families, friends and all that nature offers us.
Among our best friends are the dogs that keep us company, protect us and our property and give us unconditional love. Everywhere we look, we see dogs riding in vehicles, being walked on leash or just sitting in their master’s yard. Dogs are the most popular pet that I know of. Unfortunately we, in the Sandpoint area, have failed to provide for some of the most basic and primal needs of our loyal friend. Dogs need exercise, they need socialization and the ability to play and relax in an area that is safe, fenced away from traffic and unsupervized small children. They need a designated “dog park.”
On March 7, 2017, at 6 p.m., we will be holding a gathering of friends and neighbors, who believe as we do and care about the safety and well-being of dogs. The meeting will be held inside the East Bonner County Library, 1407 Cedar St., Sandpoint (Division Avenue at Cedar Street). Refreshments will be served and ideas and suggestions will be discussed.
We are very early in our efforts, but we are very determined in this endeavor. We welcome all support in our show of unity. If you care about dogs and their safety, I know I will see you there. Be sure to mark this on your calendar, its important.
