John Stephen Farley, 66

John Stephen Farley, 66, a resident of Sandpoint, Idaho, passed peacefully in the quiet hours of the morning on Dec. 24, 2016.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carol Longstreet Farley; his parents, Marjory Lee Farley and Walter H. Farley; and his beloved Springer spaniel, Mandi. He is the treasured brother of David Eugene Farley of Hanford, Calif.; and James Michael Farley of Sandpoint; and uncle to nieces and nephews in California.

John was born in Palo Alto, Calif., on Jan. 21, 1950, and lived in a variety of places there before moving to Idaho in 1998 to enjoy retirement from PG&E, study Native American spiritually and start a second career in the lawn and snow blowing business.

John (aka Star Trees) will be forever known for his wisdom, his spirituality, generosity and a huge heart. The family would like to thank the “heart of Sand-point,” John’s spiritual/faith communities, neighbors and friends and businesses who have supported him during his illness and during the passing of his wife Carol.

There will be a memorial service on Jan. 7, 2017, at 2 p.m. at the River of Life Church in Sandpoint, the faith community that John attended. Memorial donations can be sent to John Farley Memorial, 217 Cedar St., No, 134, Sandpoint, ID 83864 to assist with final expenses.
