If you spot a 12 foot tall Minion in South Sandpoint, it’s the handiwork of Matthew Burgstahler, who carved on his creation amid blue skies on Friday afternoon. The former Sandpoint student is a junior currently running cross country and track for Saint John’s University in Minnesota. He plans to attempt the steeplechase for the track team in the spring. He said his shoulders were sore after heaving shovelfuls of snow above his head to form the basis for an eventual character from the popular animated movie Minions. (Photo by ERIC PLUMMER)
