City hosting alley meeting today

SANDPOINT — City officials are hosting a meeting at 1 p.m. today with Avista Utilities in regards to a narrow downtown alley where electric meters have been hit several times over the last few years.

The alley is between First and Second avenues where businesses such as Baxter's on Cedar and Larson's Department Store are located.

Business owners in the affected area are invited to the meeting to offer input, allowing officials to determine a better path forward to protect public safety and comply with fire code, while also meeting the needs of the businesses located along the alley.

The meeting will be held in the council chambers at City Hall, 1123 Lake St.
