SANDPOINT — The Bonner County Human Rights Task Force will kick off its annual Student Art for Human Rights event Monday, Jan. 16.

The show, which will run through Feb. 17, will have an opening reception at the POAC gallery on First Avenue on Monday, Jan. 16, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. On Monday, the task force will also honor and celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with a movie and discussion from 6:45-7:30 p.m. in the Little Theater (next door to the Panida). The movie, “The Children’s March” (Academy Award winner for Best Documentary/Short Subject) will be followed by a discussion on what part everyone can play in creating a more inclusive and civil community.

Please join the task force to celebrate the creativity of the community’s youth as well as to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s message of social justice and change through nonviolent means.
