Jeffres double-double leads Wampus Cats in win

CLARK FORK — The one-two punch of Spencer Jeffres and Kobe Banks once again helped carry the Wampus Cats to a league win, as the pair host Clark Fork to a 58-48 win over Kootenai in North Star League boys basketball on Saturday night.

Jeffres dropped in a game-high 22 points to go with 12 boards, three steals and two blocks, as the 6-4 post continues to be handful on the blocks for opposing defenses.

Banks added 20 points, five boards, five dimes and four steals for the Wampus Cats (5-4, 3-1 NSL), who led from start to finish in a strong showing over a traditionally tough foe.

Wade Stevens, the other half of one of the best back courts in the North Star League, tallied eight points, nine boards, four assists and four steals, while Hunter Boudousquie added five boards and Dakota West three points and two steals.

Hunter Whipple scored 14 points and Gage Maitland 13 in defeat for the Warriors.

Clark Fork is at Lakeside tonight, seeking the season sweep.
