Board calls for return of Scott's committee assignments

SANDPOINT — The Bonner County Republican Central Committee is calling on Idaho House Speaker Scott Bedke to restore committee assignments to Blanchard Republican Heather Scott.
The District 1A legislator was been stripped of her committee assignments after commenting to another female lawmaker that women only move up in the Legislature by trading sexual favors.
Bedke announced the rarely-used punishment on the House floor last Thursday.
The Bonner County group adopted a resolution Tuesday night calling on Bedke to restore Scott’s committee assignments — House Commerce and Human Resources, Environment and Energy and Technology or State Affairs.
