Free sailing improvement workshops coming soon

| January 18, 2017 12:00 AM

SANDPOINT — A series of five free sailing workshops return for another great year, starting with the Sail Trim workshop on Saturday, Jan. 28, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Sandpoint Community Hall.

Brought to the public by the Sandpoint Sailing Association and Sandpoint Parks and Recreation, each of the five workshops will be held at the Sandpoint Community Hall (204 S. 1st Ave). There is no need to pre-register, just attend any or all workshops and improve as a sailor.

The sail trim workshop is for intermediate level sailors — those who already know how to sail, have some experience racing, and are interested in learning how to be more competitive in the summer Racing Series. The workshop will be located in the Boy Scout Room at Community Hall.

Other workshops this year include:

n Sailboat Maintenance — offered Saturday, Feb. 18 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

n Cruising Lake Pend Oreille — offered Saturday, March 18 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

n Racing Committee and Admin. — offered Saturday April 22nd 2017 from 9am-1pm.

n New Sailor Workshop — offered Saturday, May 20 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

The workshops are open to sailors of all skill levels.
