Winter storm notice issued

SANDPOINT — Bonner County has received a winter storm notification, anticipated to run through today, bringing potential for heavy snow, freezing rain, sleet, and ice accumulations, which would make travel unsafe.

In this event, Bonner County Sheriff’s Office advised in a Nixle alert to only drive if it’s necessary. Residents are advised to be prepared, cautious, diligent and stay safe. Only call 911 during life or death emergencies. Doing so will help with not over taxing the system, so that those with true emergencies can get through, official said.

In the event of power outages, residents are advised to check your utility company website for power outages.
