music, movies & magic spice up entertainment scene

SANDPOINT — It’s a mix of themes and opportunities this week, as winter fun hits the big screen Thursday-Saturday with the Banff Mountain Film Festival at the Panida and some good, old community activism gets underway as part of the Sandpoint/North Idaho Community March, starting Saturday morning at the Panida Theater.

Somewhere in between, be sure to make the most of all the live music around town, because all the usual joints are jumpin’ this weekend! A little farther afield — but not too far — the Pearl Theater celebrates ‘Burns Night’ in true Scottish fashion on Saturday, and the Spokane Symphony has American music on the menu at The Fox Theater.

Lastly, we look ahead into next week, which brings us the Friends of the Guitar Hour classical guitar concert series starting Thursday, as well as a community dance and a fat tire demo extravaganza and group ride out at Round Lake.

Ready? It’s time to make some picks and get out there for a good time.
