Yvonne Kay Kinkel, 66

Yvonne Kay Kinkel, 66, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017, in Sandpoint, Idaho.

Private family services have been held.

Yvonne was born on Aug. 25, 1950, to Fred and Gladys Gilson in Glasgow, Mont. They lived on a farm in Glentana, Mont., until Vonnie was 10 years old. The family sold the farm and moved to Sandpoint, Idaho. Vonnie attended Kootenai grade school and graduated in 1968 from Sandpoint High School.

After high school she moved to Hemet, Calif., married Chuck Kinkel and they had a son, Carl. They divorced and she moved back to Sandpoint with her son. Here she had a daughter, Kristy. Yvonne worked at Encoder for several years while her children were growing up. She lived close to her mother and stepfather in Kootenai until she moved to assisted living and then to Life Care Center.

Yvonne is survived by her mother and stepfather, Gladys and Pat Nave of Sandpoint; son Carl (Laurie) Kinkel of Baltimore, Md.; daughter Kristy (Earl) McCulla of Williston, N.D.; brother David (Carol) Gilson of Sagle, Idaho; a grandson, three granddaughters and a great-grandson; as well as her aunt, Vi Sammons of Sandpoint; cousins Craig Lewis and Lea Sammons, both of Sandpoint; nephew Todd (Marcy) Gilson of Newman Lake, Wash., and a niece, Sandra Gilson of Sandpoint.

She was preceded in death by her father, Fred Gilson.
