Gagnon released from hospital

BLANCHARD — Bonner County Deputy Michael Gagnon is home.

The North Idaho Critical Incident Task Force members and Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office announced early Monday afternoon that Bonner County Sheriff’s Deputy Michael Gagnon was released from Kootenai Health earlier today.

Several local law enforcement and fire agencies showed their support by participated in a vehicle procession from Kootenai Health to his home.

Gagnon and fellow Bonner County deputies Justin Penn and William Craffey came under fire while attempting to serve an arrest warrant on Adam Deacon Foster, 30, at his home at 780 Mountain View Road on Monday, Jan. 16.

Gagnon and Penn were both shot several times. Craffey was not injured.

Foster was also struck by gunfire during the confrontation. His condition was upgraded Monday to good.

The shooting remains an active investigation.
