Jan. 24, 1967 — NEW SKI BOWL
Formal application has been filed with the Small Business Administration for a $350,000 loan to construct Jackass Ski Bowl between Kellogg and Wardner Peaks in the Coeur d’Alenes. The Fabulous Valley Development Co. aided the Jackass Ski Bowl Assn. by raising $100,000 in matching funds for the loan. Stock was sold to about 500 residents of the area.
When Schweitzer Basis was built in 1963, the local community raised about $210,000 by sale of stock to some 800 persons to match ARA and SBA loans totaling $345,000.

PUCCI INJURED IN FALL
Jim Pucci, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gene Pucci of Sandpoint, is receiving treatment at Portland Providence Hospital for a shattered hip and thigh, a fractured pelvis and body lacerations received in a 25-foot fall in October.
Pucci was employed by a construction firm which was erecting a large warehouse on the pier at the Tacoma waterfront when he was injured.
He received treatment for 11 weeks in a Tacoma hospital before being transferred to Portland to be nearer his home. He has a wife and daughter.
His mother reports that he is recovering satisfactorily.

The wind Sunday night broke up all the ice in this part of the lake and the boats can have clear sailing again around here.
Wm. Cochenette put up a couple hundred cakes of nice clear, fifteen inch ice for our storekeeper.

CAREYWOOD TOWNSITE SOLD
C.W. McCoy and W.J. Gibson have purchased 720 acres of land at Careywood, including the townsite, store building, hotel and six cottages. The consideration was $16,500.

GREAT NORTHERN WILL CLEAR LAND
With all kinds of equipment for clearing cutover land a land-clearing special will arrive in Sandpoint over the G.N. railway April 23 to demonstrate the most efficient and economical methods of getting rid of stumps for the owners of logged-off lands. H.F. Samuels, who has cleared 1200 acres at Samuels Ida., and used a number of stump pulling machines, has promised to accompany the train.
