Camps lead at Trap Shoot

| January 24, 2017 12:00 AM

SAGLE — Bart Camps scored a perfect 25 to lead the Sandpoint Gun Club team to a season-high score of 97 on Sunday during the Spokesman Review Trap Shoot.

Louis Dash, Randy Poelstra, Mike Hunter and John Jaeger each posted a 24 to round out the men’s scores. Barb Camps shot 17 and Linda Bottcher 16 to lead the Sandpoint women shooters.

The Camps also posted the high scores in the Noxon Shoot, held at the same time, with Bart carding a 41 (25/16) and Barb a 36 (17/19). The men shot a team score of 159, with Mike McKitrick (23/17), Steve Torres (23/16), Mike Williams (22/17) and Tim Farmin (21/18) rounding out the scores. Bottcher shot 31 (16/15) for the women.

The Spokesman shoot is the first “cold gun” round of the day shot from the 16 yard line. The Noxon shoot is shot from yardage determined by your Spokesman score plus 2. So if I shoot a 24, I would shoot a whole new round of 25 birds from the 26 yard line

The club shoots every Sunday beginning at 9 a.m. on Gub Club Rd. in Sagle. All shooters are welcome to attend.
