Shooting suspect denies firing on deputies
SANDPOINT — A Blanchard man denied allegations Thursday that he attempted to kill to Bonner County sheriff’s deputies who tried to arrest him on battery charges earlier this month.
Adam Deacon Foster said during an initial appearance in Bonner County Magistrate Court that deputies Justin Penn and Michael Gagnon were not the people who confronted him at his home at 780 Mountain View Road on Jan. 16.
“They were thugs. They were not police officers,” said Foster, who appeared via videoconferencing from the Bonner County Jail.
Foster is charged with two counts of attempted murder and sentencing enhancements. Judge Lori Meulenberg sustained Foster’s $2 million bail and appointed a public defender to represent him.
