Lakes panel meeting today

SANDPOINT — An update on invasive mussels detected in Montana will be presented when the Idaho Lakes Commission meets today.

The meeting starts at 9 a.m. in the Columbia Bank Building at Fifth and Church.

Also on the agenda are updates from the North Idaho director of the Idaho Conservation League, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Kaniksu Land Trust. Officials from Hecla Mining will also be on hand to provide updates on the acquisition of the Montanore mining project and the Rock Creek and Troy mines.
