Bottcher high scorer for Sandpoint Gun Club

SANDPOINT — Doug Bottcher led the Sandpoint Gun Club in both trap shoots on Sunday, opening with a 24 in the Spokesman shoot, then carding a 16 in the second round for a 40 at the Noxon Shoot.

Also scoring 24 for Sandpoint was Tim Farmin, Randy Poelstra and Bart Camps, for a team score of 96. Linda Bottcher shot 17 and Barb Camps 15 to pace the women shooters.

Following Bottcher’s 40 in the Noxon shoot was Mike McKitrick 39 (22/17), Dave Bannister (39 (19/20), Farmin 38 (24/14) and Mike Hunter 38 (20/18) for a team score of 159. The better you do in the first shoot, the further back you are for the second, which equalizes the field.

Barb Camps had the hot hand in the second round, leading the women with a 35 (15/20), followed by Linda Bottcher at 32 (17/15).

The club shoots every Sunday, starting at 9 a.m., and welcomes all participants.
