My husband George and I have been through a lot recently. George has had a heart attack, a serious motorcycle accident and emergency brain surgery. Most recently, he completed 35 hours of chemotherapy and radiation to treat cancer.

George is 74, a retired logger and business owner. I'm younger and still working in the cafeteria at Newport Hospital. So when I submitted our tax return last year, I may have been a little distracted. We were counting on the return to help us pay some of those medical bills, but the money didn't come.

I couldn't understand the delay and was too exhausted to tackle the IRS bureaucracy. Then a friend suggested a solution: call Congressman Raul Labrador.

This was just what we needed. Mr. Labrador's caseworker had things straightened out in a few weeks. We received our refund and were able to pay down some bills. George and I are very grateful to the congressman's office. If you ever have trouble with the federal government, I suggest giving him a call at 208-667-0127 in Coeur d'Alene, or 208-888-3188 in Meridian.
