Memorial golf tourney Saturday

SANDPOINT — Honor a longtime local Elks golfer while supporting youth golf in Bonner County, as the Don Leen Memorial Golf Tournament returns to the Elks on Saturday, July 29 with a 10 a.m. shotgun start.

All proceeds from the event benefit the Elks Youth Golf Program, which is why there are two tournaments, one being for two kids and two parents or sponsors (with each keeping their own score), and another for adult teams in the four-person scramble format.

After the tournament, there will be free hamburgers and hot dogs, and prizes will be presented.

Cost of the tournament is $5 for kids, $10 for parent or spouse, and $25 for the scramble players. There will be three places paid out in the scramble, and individual trophies for the top three youth golfers.
