PRESBYTERIANS TO OBSERVE 60TH

Members of First Presbyterian Church, Fourth and Alder, will today observe the 60th anniversary of the sanctuary dedication today.

Although dedication of the sanctuary took place 60 years ago, the congregation dates back to 1903 when the Rev. Walker and Dr. Gormley held evangelistic meetings. A petition was signed by 23 Sandpoint residents and the Presbytery of Spokane Synod granted permission to organize a church, with May 31, 1903 as the date set.

Land was donated by pioneers, Mr. and Mrs. L.D. Farmin and the cornerstone was laid in 1906.
