New StoryWalk site to be unveiled
Kaniksu Land Trust and the East Bonner County Library District have joined forces with the cities of Dover and Ponderay to bring StoryWalk to Bonner County. StoryWalk combines reading with the outdoors on a self-guided walk with pages from a children’s book posted along the trail.
The first permanent StoryWalk location was installed at Dover City Park last December, and now a new permanent location is being launched at McNearney Park on Father’s Day. Families are encouraged to visit both locations this Sunday to read the featured stories together. Currently, “My Father Knows the Names of Things,” by Jane Yolen is posted at the McNearney Park location (behind Panhandle Animal Shelter in Ponderay), and “I Love My Pirate Papa,” by Laura Leuck is the featured story at Dover City Park (next to City Hall on Lakeshore Avenue at Dover Bay). New stories are installed periodically.
Since StoryWalk is self-guided, you can visit any time to read, connect, and get outside together. Visit kaniksulandtrust.org, ebonnerlibrary.org, cityofdover.id.gov, or cityofponderay.org to see current featured books or for more information.
